BSc Acoustics and Music Technology

For my undergraduate dissertation, I evaluated the efficacy of using auralizations from acoustic simulations to aid in sound designing small-scale festival theatre shows before gaining access to the venue. I did this by comparing acoustic measurements of Bedlam Theatre, an Edinburgh Fringe venue, with outputs from an acoustic simulation made using a Rhino model of the space and the Grasshopper plugin "Pachyderm".

I created a generative audio patch in MaxMSP to sonify a .csv file of Broadway show statistics using various controllable parameters. These included the probabilities of specific notes being picked in random note selectors, volumes of specific elements, note durations, etc. The sonification is available on Soundcloud.

As part of an Undergraduate final project, I made a portfolio of compositions approximately 30 minutes long, including a mock funding application. In the first part of the portfolio, I sound designed 2 scenes of Tony Kushner's Angels in America using QLab, and for the second part I experiment various production and sampling techniques. Tracks for this project are available on Soundcloud under the EPs "Millennium Approaches" and "Youth".

This is a simple game I made for an Interactive Sound Environments Course using Unity and Wwise. The premise of the game is to prepare for a woodland party by collecting food and cleaning up sticks while eating carrots for fuel and avoiding poisonous mushrooms. It features field and studio recorded sound effects, and unique synths and soundscapes, all controlled and modulated by in-game parameters.
